Marathon Man

We've been preparing all winter for two races this spring. We spent a good part of two weekends last month at the Oceanfront, so the family could get medals! The Final Mile took place, and we're happy to say...

And Doug did, too! He ran his first-ever marathon!!! We are so proud of him. :)

Baseball season is here!

Baseball season madness has begun. We started out the season with three boys on three separate teams. Michael is no longer on a baseball team (it just wasn't for him), but we are still following three separate teams! Jason has two and Joshua has one. Both of them love it! In fact, after a game this past Saturday, a teammate (who is all of five years old) came up to Joshua and said, "Goodbye, Joshua, that was a good game." Joshua replied, sagely, "Yes, yes it was."

Birthday party season is here for Joshua's classmates and inevitably when we attend a bash, Joshua tracks down the girls in his class and sticks to them like glue. It makes him happy to hang around them!

Sweet dreams

I was giving Joshua bedtime kisses and he was lying there, looking at me.

I told him it was my favorite part of my day.

He didn't say anything for a moment and then looked up, with his big brown eyes and said, "Do you know what my favorite part of the day is?"

"What?" I asked.

I thought maybe he would mention our time together, our bedtime routine, our shared books, block building.

"Preschool," he said.

When I grow up

I just asked Joshua what he wants to be when he grows up.

He looked so concerned for a moment and then said, "Well, when I growed up, I am still going to be Joshua???!!"

Yes, he will be and we can't wait to see it happen.
